Reach Out is our detached youth work project that engages with and provides support to young people in a street based setting. We deliver sessions on education, employment, ASB, substance misuse, Covid guidance along with fun and engaging activities when restrictions allow.
Our Reach Out service is available in areas that do not currently have a youth provision by another provider.
Our 1:1 support service is available to young people 11-19 who require support with various issues including confidence building, relationships, behaviour, LGBTQ+, anxiety and motivation. Sessions can be delivered in school, college, home or another location upon request.
We also offer 1:1 support for adults who meet certain criteria. This service assists with CV writing, job searching, interview preparation, form filling to name but a few.
We are continuing to hold virtual youth sessions for some young people alongside our face to face sessions. Sessions are held on zoom and are by invite only and currently for young people who access our Mountsorrel groups , LGBTQ+ or Melton Mowbray youth groups.
We are the providers of youth provision for Mountsorrel, Leicestershire. All the services we offer are free of charge to young people of Mountsorrel as services are funded by Mountsorrel Parish Council. Service includes Pavilion Youth Project for 11-16 year olds which is held Friday on a weekly basis.
We are the parent organisation of Pyramid, formally LGBT Melton & Charnwood.
Pyramid provides support to young people and adults who identify as LGBTQ+. We provide 1:1 support, group sessions, youth groups and social support groups for 18+.
As part of a joint venture with Fearon Hall, Loughborough https://fearonhall.org.uk/ we operate a social support and activity group for young carers aged 11-16 who live in the borough of Charnwood. The group can be accessed through self referral or referral by a parent, carer or professional. The referral form can be downloaded here
Our community outreach project was established in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
With people in communities isolating or shielding and in need of support we felt we could offer support by way of collecting groceries, prescriptions, supplying essential packs and carrying out welfare checks. We aim to continue this service post Covid.
DJ4U East Mids is our DJ entertainment service that helps to raise funds for LRYFS groups through private bookings. DJ4U East Mids will be working with other DJs to train and educate young people in the art of DJing.
A communi-tea social group for everyone. A safe space to sit, chat, get information and build positive friendships. Mug and Mingle has been set up to help reduce isolation, loneliness and the the mental health impact bought on by the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. It will also be a place to get information and guidance from partner agencies who will joining us for some sessions. Currently available in Mountsorrel on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11am - 1pm located at The Parish Rooms, Mountsorrel Parish Council. Other locations will be added soon.
A project that encourages and promotes recycling, greener values and respect of the places in which we live. This is done by community litter picks, youth group litter picks, loaning of litter picking equipment to local families, young people and groups so they can carry out picks themselves.
We also carry out river litter picks where by we take to the River Soar in our canoe and carry out regular clean ups of the water and banks of the river. We educate as we go with resources and information on recycling, local wildlife, water safety and the health benefits of getting out and litter picking.
We offer project management for youth, family and community projects who are starting up or who are in need of a new management either for whole projects or specific targeted sessions.
